Building Awareness for a Special Event
The Progress & Freedom Foundation (P&F): A nonprofit think tank based in Washington, DC studies the digital revolution and its implications for public policy.
Situation Analysis: Each summer, PFF hosts the Aspen Summit, an annual gathering of the digital world’s most prominent business leaders, thinkers and policymakers. PFF needed to broaden awareness of the event and attract reporters to cover it.
Strategy: PFF disseminated a regular stream of press releases to announce program highlights, registration deadlines, special events, and keynote speakers. The PR team built a custom media list, targeting government, technology and business media and conducted proactive outreach and follow up to schedule interviews. Finally, on-site, at the conference, the team coordinated interviews.
Resulting Media Coverage (included, but was not limited to): Wall Street Journal (by-line piece), Washington Post, Denver Post, Colorado Daily, Rocky Mountain News, Aspen Times, Aspen Daily News, Reuters, Dow Jones, Technology Daily, Information Week
